Michael Roberts, MPT, CSCS

Mike is a licensed Physical Therapist and a certified strength and conditioning specialist.  He holds a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from American International College and a Bachelors Degree in Movement Science from Westfield State University. He opened CMPT in 2007 with the goal of changing the way physical therapy is delivered. He has lectured throughout New England on the topic of injury prevention and performance enhancement and has presented at local universities, regional conferences, and MIAA and MDA conferences. He is one of the first non-physician authors for Up-to-Date, an internet based medical reference used internationally. He is a certified Graston Technician. Mike is a long-time competitive runner and triathlete; he is a 2-time All-American triathlete who has completed 3 ironman triathlons (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run) with a personal best of 9 hours and 29 minutes. In addition to providing physical therapy services at CMPT, Mike also focuses his time on coaching athletes and directing group wellness classes.  He lives in Holden with his wife Lauren, daughter Michaela, son Evan, and Labrador retriever Sam.

Jacqueline Shakar, DPT, MSPT, OCS, CMT

Jackie has been physical therapist for over 30 years and is a true icon in the field. She has presented at many national conferences, colleges and universities. She received her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University and completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Mass General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. Jackie is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist by the APTA and she is a full time professor in the Physical Therapy Assistant Program at Mount Wachusett Community College. Jackie is a Graston Technique primary instructor and teaches nationally. She is one of New England’s only certified PRRT providers. Therapists throughout New England refer clients to her for second opinions and consultations. In her spare time, Jackie is a competitive runner who is well known regionally and has won far too many road races to count. She competes annually in the Mount Washington Road Race where she frequently finishes atop her age group. Jackie resides in Sutton.

Mike is a licensed Physical Therapist working full-time at Central Mass Physical Therapy and Wellness. Mike received his Bachelor of Science degree from Springfield College and then his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Sacred Heart University. After graduating, Mike enrolled in a two year fellowship with the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy. Through continued training Mike has become specialized in the evaluation and treatment of the spine as well as other orthopedic conditions. Mike is very manually and exercise based with his treatment but also believes that patient education is a huge part of the equation. By conducting a thorough evaluation, Mike will identify mechanical stressors and educate the patient on how to reduce pain quickly whether it be sleeping, driving, sitting, or performing higher level activity. Mike is also trained in Dry Needling and the Graston Technique. Mike enjoys playing golf, exercising, and spending time with friends and family. Mike resides in Cambridge.

Michael Racette, DPT, OMT

Mike is a regionally sought after physical therapist and certified strength and conditioning specialist. He received his Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Simmons College in 1999 and he holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the College of the Holy Cross. Mike is a certified Graston Technician and has spent over 11 years in outpatient physical therapy. He has presented regionally on the topic of injury prevention and he is especially interested in the role of evidence in the practice of physical therapy. He is a strong proponent of functional exercise, manual therapy and healthy lifestyles, and is an avid cyclist and occasional runner. He lives in Auburn with his wife and daughter.

Emily is a licensed physical therapist and certified strength and conditioning specialist. She holds a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Vermont and a B.S. in Exercise & Movement Science. Emily has been a part of the CMPT team since 2008 and she is passionate about injury prevention and treating the human body in a holistic manner. She has taken additional coursework through the Functional Movement Systems, Postural Restoration Institute, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, and Institute of Physical Art. She is certified in the Graston Technique and Dry Needling. She has guest lectured about injury prevention and sports performance at local highs schools, sports clubs, regional triathlon conferences, and physical education conferences. Emily was a competitive gymnast for over 10 years and competed all-around for UVM’s club team. In 2009 she completed the Marine Corps Marathon to raise funds to help children with cancer. Emily is an avid cyclist and loves spending her free time outdoors.

Laura has been a physical therapist for over 20 years, graduating from California State University, Long Beach.  Laura has over 15 years of outpatient physical therapy experience.  She is a certified Graston Technician and trained in dry needling.  She is a strong advocate of functional training and a holistic approach to rehabilitation.  For this reason she was sought out to join the staff at CMPT.  Laura enjoys outpatient because she gets to work with all ages and activity levels.  She is a strong promoter of living a healthy lifestyle and loves helping her patients to return to their prior levels of activity.  Laura currently starts the day at CMPT bright and early (6:30am four days a week) and helps the early risers get a jump start on their rehabilitation.  She has been a lifelong athlete, and participates in triathlon. She has completed the Pan Mass Challenge numerous times, the Jimmy Fund walk, and has donated her hair to 'Locks of Love' twice! She is married with 2 children, Nicholas and Julia, all of whom love to camp and hike and be in the outdoors.

Brian Crowe, PT

Brian is a licensed Physical Therapist with a Doctorate of PT from the Arizona School of Health Sciences and a Bachelors in Psychology from Arizona State University. He has worked as a PT for 17 years in multiple settings including pediatrics, outpatient orthopedic, and in a rehabilitation setting. He takes a hollistic approach to therapy and feels that functional movement is key and there is always more to learn. Brian is a certified Graston Technician and has taken PRI, FMS, Mulligan Mobilization with Movement, and LSVT BIG courses. Brian coached competitive women’s gymnastics in AZ and MA and has been a part of multiple state, regional and national level teams. He enjoys Crossfit, motorcycling, being outdoors, and traveling. He resides in Charlton with his girlfriend.

Mark Howard, DPT

Mark is a licensed Physical Therapist working full time at CMPT. He received his Doctorate degree from Northeastern University in 2015, completing his undergraduate degree in Communications at Westfield State in 2004. Mark is a certified FMS and Graston Technique practitioner and believes in a holistic, individual approach for each patient. As an undergraduate, Mark was a member of the Westfield State football team and was also a 3x conference champion hammer thrower for the track team. He spent several years competing in the Highland Games and continues to be active in the strength sport community. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 young children.

Beth McKenna Reinach, MPT

Beth is a licensed Physical Therapist with a Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California and a Bachelors in Athletic Training from Penn State University. She was a certified athletic trainer for 20 years and has worked as a physical therapist in multiple settings. She has 15 years of clinical physical therapy experience in orthopedics, oncology and home care; she brings invaluable experience to the out patient setting. Beth is a certified Graston Technician and former Senior Physical Therapist at Georgetown University Medical Center. She also taught as an adjunct faculty member at Marymount University in Arlington, VA. Beth enjoys reading, exercising and traveling. She resides in Westborough with her husband and two children.

Connor McLaughlin, DPT

Connor is a licensed physical therapist with a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from MCPHS University in Worcester, MA. He received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Endicott College. While at Endicott Connor played 4 years of collegiate baseball and served as co-captain of the baseball team. As a DPT student, Connor completed one of his clinical affiliations at CMPT where he developed a strong appreciation for taking a holistic approach to physical therapy and he became certified in the Graston Technique. In his spare time, Connor enjoys fishing, golfing, kayaking, and spending time with his family, friends, and dogs

She is actively involved in many different research projects. Dawn is a certified Graston Technician.  In her spare time Dawn is a very accomplished runner and cyclist.  She has won many regional road races and was runner-up in the 2009 New England Mountain running series.  Dawn resides in West Springfield.

Dan is a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant working full time at CMPT. He graduated with his Associates of Science in Physical Therapist Assistant from Mount Wachusett Community College. He was employed as a rehab aide and front desk staff at CMPT while in school and gained an appreciation for the unique treatment approach used. Dan is also a licensed massage therapist and has continued to grow his manual therapy techniques by becoming Graston certified and Active Release Technique certified. Dan uses a multifaceted approach of manual therapy and therapeutic exercises to address a patient’s movement dysfunction. Dan currently resides in Hubbardston and enjoys playing golf, soccer, basketball, and cycling.

Matt McLeod, CSCS

Matt is a graduate from Bridgewater State University with a BA in Exercise Science. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He works side-by-side with the physical therapists at CMPT, while assisting in exercise prescription and performance training. He also directs all Strength and Conditioning Camps for local high school sports teams. He preaches nutrition and consistency with training throughout all of this programming. Outside of work, Matt enjoys training for Strongman and is an avid tennis player. He was a former T&G All-Star in Central MA.

Eric is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and expert trainer at CMPT. He holds a bachelors degree in Health Sciences from Worcester State University, with a concentration in Athletic Training. Eric is the head of Physical Training at Boylston Regional Academy, where he has been training recruit classes since 1998. Since 1996, Eric has helped hundreds of clients lose thousands of pounds. Additionally, he has coached and designed programs for many regionally and nationally ranked high school and college athletes in the area of strength and conditioning. Eric directs group classes and is sought after for private and semi-private group classes at Central Mass PT. Eric is a competitive athlete and outdoor enthusiast with hobbies that include biking, rock climbing, ice climbing, and cross country skiing. Eric currently resides in Rutland.

Front Office Staff

Chris joined the CMPT team in 2011 as a billing / collection specialist. She graduated from Bentley University with a BS in accounting and recently obtained a certificate in medical billing and coding from Assumption College. She has held various accounting positions for the last 30 years. Chris is married with two daughters and lives in Northborough. In her spare time Chris enjoys jogging, biking, skiing, and exercising, along with cooking for family and friends. She is always happy to assist patients with billing and insurance related questions.

Meridith joined the CMPT team in 2016 after several years in insurance and education. She graduated from Worcester State University with a BS in Health Studies. Meridith is married with three daughters and lives in Worcester. In her spare time, Meridith enjoys running, yoga, and spending time with her family and friends.

Meridith Kiritsy

Kathleen works part-time in the CMPT office while also balancing family, coaching, and training. She is a graduate of UMass, Amherst and she is a USAT Level I certified coach.  She coaches athletes at all levels, from newbies to veterans, to prepare them for events including 5k runs, marathons, duathlons, and triathlons. Kathleen has coached for Team in Training, Notre Dame Academy and mentored for the Sherox triathlon. Most recently, she has competed at the Ironman distance with a time of 10 hours 38 minutes. She has earned multiple podium visits, an honorable mention All American status, and has qualified for national championships for triathlon and duathlon events. Kathleen is a mother of three young children and is a resident of Worcester and a graduate of UMass, Amherst.

Liz joined the CMPT team in 2016. She is a graduate of Saint Peter Marian High School and Worcester State University where she majored in communications. Liz lives in Paxton with her husband and twin daughters. In her spare time Liz enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, visiting Cape Cod and playing with her babies.

Karen joined the CMPT team in 2016 in the billing and collections area. She worked for a regional Physical Therapy practice from 1990 to 2001 as the Administrative Assistant and regional Billing Supervisor and as the Office Manager for a smaller PT practice from 2006 to present.  Karen is a graduate of Providence College. She is married with three high school and college aged children.  Karen enjoys supporting her husband and kids in all of their work, school and various sports and activities while fitting in running, exercising, drawing and spending time with her close-knit family and friends.

Barbara joined the CMPT team in 2013 after several years of secretarial and EMR experience. She worked for five years in the imaging departments at the Metro West Medical Center and spent many years assisting the elderly and disabled. She attended the Bancroft School of Massage and became a licensed massage therapist after passing the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. When not working Barbara enjoys spending time with her family and friends, nature, traveling, and homemaking.
