Shockwave Therapy (EPAT)

The current research regarding Shockwave Therapy has been very favorable. Outcomes include an immediate reduction in pain, increased range of motion and improved healing.

For injuries such as Achilles tendonitis and plantar fasciitis, we tend to refer out to our ankle and foot specialists.

How does Shockwave Therapy work?

Shockwave Therapy uses acoustic sound waves to target injured tissues. Applying low-frequency sound waves to the injured tissue can stimulate the metabolic process, promote tissue remodeling and improve blood flow,

thus expediting the healing process. This is a relatively quick procedure requiring 15-20 minutes of your time and is typically done over the course of 2-4 sessions.
